WEF’s Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at 2024 Davos Forum

In an interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainability and diversity at the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.

“We are striving to ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’ wherever possible,” Podolak stated, highlighting the WEF’s efforts to minimize the environmental impact of its flagship event. One of the key measures includes subsidizing participants who choose to travel by public transportation, encouraging eco-friendly travel options.

Podolak also underscored the importance of diverse representation at the Davos Forum. “We have brought in a wide array of voices from different regions, industries, and perspectives,” he said. This inclusivity aims to enrich the dialogue and foster collaborative solutions to global challenges.

The WEF’s focus on sustainability and diversity reflects a broader commitment to addressing critical issues impacting Asia and the world. By promoting environmentally conscious practices and embracing diverse viewpoints, the Davos Forum seeks to catalyze meaningful change on the global stage.
