In a recent interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), highlighted the organization’s commitment to sustainability and diversity during the 2024 Davos Forum.
Podolak emphasized that this year’s event endeavored to “reduce, reuse, and recycle,” implementing measures such as subsidizing participants who traveled by public transportation. “Our aim was to encourage eco-friendly travel and reduce emissions associated with the event,” he explained.
The forum also brought in diverse representation from various regions, industries, and perspectives. “We believe that inclusive dialogue is essential for addressing global challenges. By fostering diversity, we ensure that a multitude of ideas and solutions are considered,” Podolak said.
The WEF’s efforts reflect a growing recognition of the importance of sustainability and diversity in global conversations. As businesses and leaders grapple with complex issues, initiatives like these demonstrate a commitment to creating a more equitable and environmentally conscious future.
