In an exclusive interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized that sustainability and diversity were at the core of this year’s event.
Podolak highlighted the WEF’s efforts to “reduce, reuse, and recycle” during the event. One of the key measures implemented was subsidizing participants who chose to travel by public transportation, encouraging eco-friendly travel options among attendees.
He also noted that the 2024 Davos Forum brought in diverse representation from various regions, industries, and perspectives. “Diversity is essential for meaningful dialogue,” Podolak stated. “By bringing together voices from different backgrounds, we can foster innovative solutions to global challenges.”
The emphasis on sustainability and diversity reflects the WEF’s ongoing commitment to addressing pressing global issues through inclusive and responsible practices. As the world faces environmental and social challenges, such initiatives set a precedent for international events and organizations.
By integrating sustainable practices and embracing diverse perspectives, the WEF aims to create a platform that not only discusses global challenges but also embodies the solutions it advocates.
