WEF Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at Core of Event

In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized that sustainability and diversity were at the forefront of this year's event planning.

\"We've made significant efforts to 'reduce, reuse, and recycle' throughout the conference,\" Podolak stated. One of the key measures implemented was subsidizing participants who chose to travel by public transportation, encouraging eco-friendly travel to Davos.

Podolak also highlighted the WEF's commitment to fostering diverse representation. \"The 2024 Davos Forum has brought together a wide range of voices from different regions, industries, and perspectives,\" he said. The inclusion of varied opinions is aimed at enriching discussions and promoting collaborative solutions to global challenges.

The WEF's focus on sustainability and diversity reflects a broader commitment to addressing pressing global issues such as climate change and social inequality. By integrating these values into the core of the event, the Forum aims to lead by example and inspire actionable change among global leaders and stakeholders.
