In a recent interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainability and diversity for the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.
“We have made significant efforts to ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’ throughout this year’s event,” Podolak stated. One of the key initiatives includes subsidizing participants who opt for public transportation, aiming to minimize the event’s carbon footprint.
Podolak also highlighted the importance of diverse representation at the forum. “We have broadened our outreach to include a wider spectrum of regions, industries, and opinions. It’s crucial that we bring together voices from all corners of the globe to address the pressing challenges of our time,” he explained.
The 2024 Davos Forum is expected to gather leaders from various sectors to discuss global economic trends, environmental issues, and social developments. By prioritizing sustainability and inclusivity, the WEF aims to foster collaborative solutions for a more resilient future.
