WEF Operations Chief Highlights Sustainability and Diversity at 2024 Davos Forum

In an exclusive interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainability and diversity for the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.

Podolak shared that this year’s event has made significant strides in reducing its environmental footprint by embracing the principles of “reduce, reuse, and recycle.” One of the key initiatives includes subsidizing participants who choose public transportation, aiming to decrease carbon emissions associated with travel.

Beyond environmental efforts, the WEF is also focusing on bringing diverse representation to the forum. “We are ensuring a wide range of voices and perspectives are heard, representing different regions, industries, and opinions,” Podolak stated. This approach aims to foster inclusive dialogue on global issues impacting Asia and the world.

The 2024 Davos Forum is poised to be a convergence point for global leaders, business professionals, academics, and cultural enthusiasts, addressing critical topics at the intersection of sustainability and diversity.
