In a recent interview with CGTN’s Global Business, Severin Podolak, Head of Event Management and Operations at the World Economic Forum (WEF), emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainability and diversity for the upcoming 2024 Davos Forum.
Podolak highlighted that this year’s event made significant strides to “reduce, reuse, and recycle,” implementing measures such as subsidizing participants who traveled by public transportation. “We tried our best to minimize our environmental footprint by encouraging sustainable travel and resource utilization,” he stated.
The WEF has also prioritized diverse representation at the 2024 Davos Forum. According to Podolak, the event will bring together voices from various regions, industries, and perspectives. “It’s crucial to have a wide range of opinions to address the complex challenges facing our global community,” he noted.
The focus on sustainability and diversity reflects the WEF’s broader mission to foster inclusive dialogue and collaborative solutions. By integrating these core values into the event’s operations, the WEF aims to set a precedent for international gatherings.
