He is visiting the U.S. capital to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday as the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han noted. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of the peoples of our two countries and meets the expectations of the international community.\"
Han highlighted the pivotal role of the U.S. business community in fostering China-U.S. relations, calling them participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts. He assured that China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up initiatives and continue to improve its business environment.
Representatives of the U.S. business community acknowledged the positive signal sent by the recent phone conversation between President-elect Trump and President Xi, expressing optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities. \"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist,\" they stated.
The business leaders voiced support for strengthening dialogue and communication between the two nations to advance bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.
In addition to meeting with business representatives, Han also held talks with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed U.S. companies, including Tesla, to seize opportunities presented by China's development and to contribute to promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and the United States.
Musk expressed enthusiasm for deepening Tesla's investment and cooperation with China, indicating the company's commitment to playing an active role in enhancing economic and trade ties between the two countries.
