Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Ties
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of continued investment and cooperation between China and the United States. Han expressed hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and establish roots in China, playing an active role as a bridge and contributing to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.

Han made these remarks during meetings with representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. He is attending the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday as the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, at the invitation of the United States.
Emphasis on Bilateral Cooperation
During the discussions, Han noted that President Xi and President-elect Trump recently reached important common understandings regarding the future development of China-U.S. relations during a phone call. He highlighted the broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation between the two nations, stating that a good start and steady growth in bilateral relations serve the well-being of both peoples and meet international expectations.
Han praised the U.S. business community as the backbone of China-U.S. relations, recognizing them as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts. He assured that China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up initiatives and continue to improve its business environment.

Representatives of the U.S. business community expressed optimism about the recent positive messages from the phone conversation between Trump and Xi. They emphasized that as the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist. The representatives voiced their support for strengthening dialogue and communication to continue advancing bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.
Meeting with Elon Musk
On the same day, Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed U.S. companies, including Tesla, to seize opportunities to share in the fruits of China's development and contribute to promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations. Musk expressed readiness to deepen Tesla's investment and cooperation with China, playing an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
