Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Economic Ties

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with U.S. business leaders in Washington D.C. on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties between China and the United States. Han expressed hope that American companies would continue to invest and establish roots in China, playing an active role as a bridge between the two nations.

Han is visiting Washington D.C. to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday, serving as Chinese President Xi Jinping\u0027s special representative. During his visit, Han engaged with representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the significant role of the U.S. business community in fostering bilateral relations.

\\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\\" Han stated. \\"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of the peoples of both countries and meets the expectations of the international community.\\"

Han acknowledged the U.S. business community as the backbone of China-U.S. relations, describing them as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as China\u0027s reform and opening-up drive. He reaffirmed China\u0027s commitment to advancing reform and opening-up efforts and continuing to improve its business environment.

Representatives of the U.S. business community expressed optimism about China\u0027s economic prospects and opportunities for development. They noted that the recent phone conversation between President-elect Trump and President Xi sent a positive and encouraging message, advocating for mutually beneficial cooperation between the world\u0027s two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies.

\\"The U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist,\\" the representatives said. They voiced support for strengthening dialogue and communication to continue advancing bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.

In addition to meeting with business leaders, Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday. Han welcomed U.S. companies, including Tesla, to seize opportunities and share in the fruits of China\u0027s development, contributing to the promotion of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

Musk expressed Tesla\u0027s readiness to deepen investment and cooperation with China and to play an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the U.S. and China.
