Han Zheng Engages U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of strengthening China-U.S. relations and economic cooperation. The meeting, held in Washington D.C., sought to foster dialogue and mutual understanding between the two nations amid evolving global economic landscapes.

Han Zheng expressed hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and establish deeper roots in the Chinese mainland, highlighting their role as a bridge in bilateral relations. \"U.S. businesses have always been the backbone of China-U.S. relations,\" Han stated. \"We encourage you to play an active role and contribute to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of our ties.\"

The Vice President is in Washington D.C. as the special representative of President Xi Jinping to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday. Han noted the recent phone conversation between President Xi and President-elect Trump, during which they reached important common understandings on advancing China-U.S. relations.

\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han remarked. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of our peoples and meets the expectations of the international community.\"

Representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations. They noted that the recent dialogue between the two presidents sent a positive, encouraging message. \"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation,\" one representative commented. \"We are committed to supporting dialogue and communication to advance economic and trade cooperation.\"

Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk during his visit. Han welcomed U.S. companies, including Tesla, to seize opportunities in China's development. \"We welcome you to share in the fruits of China's development and contribute to promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations,\" Han told Musk.

Musk expressed his enthusiasm for deepening investment and cooperation with China. \"Tesla is ready to play an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the U.S. and China,\" he said.

Han reaffirmed China's commitment to advancing reform and opening-up efforts, signaling continued improvement of the business environment. \"China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts,\" he stated. \"We will continue to improve our business environment for the benefit of all.\"
