Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Boost China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng expressed hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and establish roots in China, emphasizing their role as a bridge in fostering steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations. Han made these remarks on Sunday during meetings with representatives from the U.S. business community, including the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in Washington D.C.

Attending the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as President Xi Jinping's special representative, Han highlighted the recent phone conversation between President Xi and President-elect Trump. He noted that the two leaders reached important common understandings on the future development of China-U.S. relations.

\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han stated. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and maintaining its steady growth serves the common well-being of our peoples and meets the expectations of the international community.\"

Han praised the U.S. business community as the backbone of China-U.S. relations, acknowledging them as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation and China's reform and opening-up efforts. He affirmed China's commitment to advancing these efforts and continuing to improve its business environment.

Representatives of the U.S. business community responded positively, expressing optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities. They emphasized that the recent dialogue between Trump and Xi sent an encouraging message, underscoring the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies.

\"The U.S. and China should work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist,\" one representative remarked. The business leaders voiced support for strengthening dialogue and communication to advance bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.

On the same day, Han met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed U.S. companies like Tesla to seize opportunities in China, sharing in the fruits of its development and contributing to the promotion of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

Musk expressed enthusiasm for deepening Tesla's investment and cooperation in China. \"Tesla is ready to play an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the U.S. and China,\" he said.
