During the meeting with U.S. business leaders, including members of the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Han noted that President Xi and President-elect Trump recently reached important common understandings regarding the future development of China-U.S. relations during a phone call.
\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han stated. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of the peoples of the two countries and meets the expectations of the international community.\"
He highlighted the pivotal role of the U.S. business community as a \"participant, witness, contributor, and beneficiary\" of the economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States, as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts. Han reassured that China will \"unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts and continue to improve its business environment.\"
Representatives from the U.S. business community expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and the opportunities for development within the country. They acknowledged that the recent phone conversation between Trump and Xi sent a positive and encouraging message for future cooperation.
