The inaugural regular international flight between Sanya, China, and Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, touched down in Sanya on Thursday. This landmark event signifies a major step forward in Sanya’s quest to explore new tourism markets and broaden its international reach.
Since the beginning of the year, Sanya International Airport in south China’s Hainan Province has been steadily expanding its global connections. With 28 overseas routes now in operation, the airport links 21 international cities and has welcomed approximately 650,000 international overnight visitors.
The new Sanya-Tashkent route is expected to foster closer ties between China and Uzbekistan, promoting cultural exchange and economic cooperation. Local businesses and tourism operators in Sanya anticipate a surge in visitors from Central Asia, eager to experience the city’s tropical charm and hospitality.
As Sanya continues to position itself as a premier international destination, the addition of regular flights to Tashkent highlights the city’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and offering diverse travel options for global tourists.
