Beijing Daxing International Airport is soaring to new heights in 2024, welcoming a record-breaking number of foreign travelers. Over 1 million entries and exits of foreign nationals have been recorded so far this year, marking a significant milestone for the airport.
The immigration inspection station at the airport confirmed this achievement on Friday. The surge in international travelers is attributed to new policies aimed at facilitating the entry of foreigners. An increase in the number of countries enjoying visa-free status has attracted visitors from around the world to the Chinese mainland.
The airport’s international flight network continues to expand rapidly. Currently, flights operate to 43 international and regional destinations across 25 countries and regions in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, according to airport authorities.
Looking ahead to the winter-spring flight season, Beijing Daxing International Airport plans to open new routes to cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Vientiane, and Casablanca. There are also plans to launch flights to Africa and North America and to increase the frequency of flights to the Middle East and Russia, providing travelers with even more international flight options.
The airport has also been approved by the National Immigration Administration as one of the nine ports allowing foreign nationals 24-hour direct transit without undergoing border check procedures. This initiative further enhances the airport’s appeal as a global aviation hub.
