The 2024 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit concluded its four-day session in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, the Chinese mainland, on Friday, bringing together over 1,800 guests from more than 130 countries and regions. The summit emphasized enhancing cooperation and harnessing innovative potential in the digital age.
“Enhancing cooperation and gathering innovative potential were key features at this year’s WIC,” said Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC. The 2024 edition, themed “Embracing a People-Centered and AI-For-Good Digital Future – Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” featured 24 sub-forums on topics including the Global Development Initiative, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology governance.
A highlight of the event was the Light of Internet Expo, where more than 40 large AI models and vertical AI models were showcased. The expo attracted 665 enterprises from 53 countries and regions, including Russia, France, Germany, the UK, and Singapore. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with the latest AI products and explore industrial cooperation opportunities.
Participants expressed optimism about the role of AI and digital technology in fostering global development. The conference served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, aiming to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
