Accenture, a global consulting firm, is sharpening its focus on three critical areas as it evolves its business in China. Speaking at the 2024 China International Import Expo, Anoop Sagoo, Asia Pacific chief operating officer of Accenture, highlighted the company’s interest in China’s manufacturing and research and development (R&D), its vast consumer base, and talent transformation.
“China’s manufacturing sector, coupled with its advancements in R&D, presents tremendous opportunities for innovation and growth,” Sagoo said in an interview with CGTN’s Gan Tian. “We are keen to be part of this dynamic ecosystem.”
He emphasized the significance of China’s large consumer market. “With a population eager for new products and services, China’s consumer base offers unparalleled potential for businesses,” Sagoo noted.
Addressing talent transformation, Sagoo underscored the importance of developing skills to meet evolving industry demands. “Investing in talent is crucial. We aim to support the development of skills that drive digital transformation and sustainability,” he added.
Accenture’s strategic focus aligns with China’s ongoing initiatives to boost manufacturing capabilities, enhance consumer markets, and foster talent development. The company’s commitment reflects a broader trend of global firms deepening their engagement with China’s economic landscape.
