Chinese Premier Li Qiang convened a symposium with select exhibitors and buyers at the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Monday. Ramesh Singaram, President and CEO of GE Vernova Gas Power Asia, was among the eight business leaders invited to share insights at the event.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Singaram said, “I’m very privileged to be chosen as one of the eight CEO leaders at the event.” He highlighted the significance of Premier Li’s engagement with the business community, noting that it reflects the government’s openness to feedback from industry stakeholders.
“I came away feeling very positive in the sense that the leader of the country is very keen to know feedback from the folks, from the business community as well,” Singaram told CGTN. His comments underscore the collaborative atmosphere of the symposium, aimed at fostering stronger ties between the government and international businesses operating in China.
The CIIE, now in its seventh year, continues to serve as a pivotal platform for global companies to showcase their products and services to the Chinese market. The involvement of senior government officials like Premier Li emphasizes China’s commitment to international trade and cooperation.
