The BRICS nations are poised to play a pivotal role in fostering global economic growth and establishing a more balanced world order, according to Jiang Tianjiao, associate director of the Centre for BRICS Studies at Fudan University. In a recent interview with CGTN’s Lily Lyu, Jiang highlighted the significant achievements of BRICS countries in promoting worldwide economic recovery.
“BRICS countries have made great strides in boosting global economic growth,” Jiang stated. “Facing serious challenges in global governance, BRICS will contribute voices from Global South countries to foster a balanced world order.”
Jiang emphasized that the collaboration among BRICS nations serves as a bridge for North-South cooperation. “This is very important to future sustainable development as well as to world peace and regional stability,” he added.
The BRICS countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—represent a significant portion of the world’s population and economic output. Their cooperation is seen as a crucial factor in addressing global challenges and ensuring that developing countries have a stronger voice in international affairs.
“By working together, BRICS nations can promote a more inclusive and equitable global governance system,” Jiang concluded. “This collective effort is essential for the sustainable development of all countries and for maintaining peace and stability worldwide.”
