China has officially requested consultations with Türkiye at the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding Türkiye’s recent imposition of additional tariffs and import licensing restrictions on electric vehicles (EVs) and other vehicles from China, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
On Tuesday, the ministry announced that Türkiye has imposed a 40 percent additional tariff on imported EVs and other vehicles from China, coupled with stringent import license requirements. This move has raised significant concerns within China’s automotive industry.
