Beijing, Thursday — Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter to the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which opened in Beijing today under the theme “Global Services, Shared Prosperity.”
In his letter, President Xi emphasized that CIFTIS, successfully held for a decade, vividly portrays the high-quality development of China’s service industry and trade in services. He noted that the event has made positive contributions to building an open world economy.
“China will promote high-quality development via high-level opening up,” President Xi stated. “We will improve institutions and mechanisms for high-level opening up, innovate and upgrade trade in services, and actively align ourselves with high-standard international economic and trade rules.”
He highlighted China’s commitment to promoting interoperability and compatibility of rules, regulations, management, and standards in the service sector. “We will open our service market wider to the outside world in an orderly manner, enhance the functions of the service sector and trade in services as platforms of opening up, and forge a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment,” he said.
President Xi expressed China’s readiness to work with all countries to jointly share opportunities, discuss cooperation, and promote development in line with the general trend of economic globalization. “This will contribute to promoting global economic growth and the well-being of the people of various countries,” he added.
The 2024 CIFTIS brings together global leaders, business professionals, and industry experts to discuss the future of trade in services and explore new avenues for international cooperation. The event serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration and driving innovation in the global service industry.
