China’s Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday the launch of an anti-dumping investigation into rape seeds imported from Canada starting in 2023. The investigation aims to determine if Canadian rape seeds are being sold at unfairly low prices in the Chinese market, potentially harming domestic industries.
The Ministry will also assess any damages suffered by related Chinese industries between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023. Officials will examine import volumes, pricing strategies, and their impact on local producers during this period.
The probe is expected to conclude before September 9, 2025. However, under special circumstances, the investigation may be extended by an additional six months.
