Oman Strengthens Economic Ties with China Through Belt and Road Initiative

Oman’s rich maritime heritage continues to shape its modern economic ambitions, with trade remaining a pivotal aspect of the nation’s development.

Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, the governor of Dhofar in Oman, highlighted this enduring legacy in a recent interview with China Media Group (CMG).

He emphasized Oman’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with China, particularly through active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

“Our historical ties and shared vision for prosperity make China a key partner in Oman’s economic future,” said Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said during the interview.

As a gateway between East and West, Oman sees immense potential in the BRI to enhance connectivity, promote investment, and foster mutual growth.

He reiterated Oman’s dedication to leveraging its strategic location and historical trade links to contribute meaningfully to the BRI.

By bolstering cooperation with China, Oman aims to diversify its economy, create new opportunities, and strengthen its role in regional and global trade.
