Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi Sign MOU to Boost Investment Cooperation

Invest Hong Kong and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have embarked on a new partnership, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance investment promotion exchanges and mutual support.

The MOU, signed online on Tuesday, aims to foster a closer relationship between Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), facilitating inward and outward investments in both Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.

Alpha Lau, Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, hailed the agreement as a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties. “Hong Kong offers an efficient, reliable business platform, bridging the Chinese mainland and the rest of the world,” Lau stated.

Abu Dhabi, as a leading economy in the Gulf region and a significant source of foreign direct investment, stands to benefit from Hong Kong’s status as the world’s “super-connector.” Companies from Abu Dhabi and the UAE can collaborate with Asian counterparts, tapping into growing business opportunities across both regions.

The MOU encourages the promotion of investment between the two sides and the sharing of experiences in attracting foreign investment. It also supports local companies interested in establishing or expanding their businesses within the other’s jurisdiction, facilitating inward investment between Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.
