The 8th China-Eurasia Expo commenced on Wednesday morning in Urumqi City, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. With the theme “New Opportunities of Silk Road, New Vitality for Eurasian Cooperation,” the expo aims to enhance economic collaboration across Eurasia.
The event has invited Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan as guest countries, alongside Beijing, Shandong Province, and Sichuan Province as guest provinces and cities. A total of 23 countries, three regions, and one international organization have established national and regional pavilions.
Running until Sunday, the expo has attracted over 1,900 participants from 50 countries, regions, and international organizations, showcasing more than 6,000 varieties of products. Covering an area of 140,000 square meters, it features four major exhibition zones: investment cooperation, international exhibitions, special industries, and equipment manufacturing.
The expo will facilitate investment between China and other countries—including Russia, Central Asian nations, and members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership—in sectors such as agriculture, textiles and apparel, energy, and chemicals.
As a premier platform for multi-field exchanges and cooperation between China and Eurasian countries, the China-Eurasia Expo has been held since 2011. Over its previous seven sessions, it has yielded fruitful results, attracting more than 12,200 domestic and foreign exhibitors from over 70 countries and regions, and drawing a total of 2.16 million visitors.
