Shift in Mindset Crucial for China-Europe Climate Cooperation, Says Club of Rome
China and Europe have long been at the forefront of global efforts to combat climate change, striving to promote sustainable development and green growth. However, according to Alvarez Pereira Carlos, Secretary General of the Club of Rome, a significant shift in mindset is essential to strengthen cooperation between the two regions.
In a recent interview with CGTN’s Michael Wang on BizTalk, Carlos emphasized the necessity and urgency of enhancing global environmental governance through international collaboration. “We need to move beyond traditional approaches and adopt new ways of thinking to address the environmental challenges we face,” he stated.
Carlos highlighted that both China and Europe have the potential to lead the world in sustainable practices by sharing knowledge, technology, and resources. “By working together, we can create a more sustainable future not just for our regions, but for the entire planet,” he added.
The Club of Rome, an organization dedicated to addressing global issues through holistic and long-term approaches, believes that cooperation between China and Europe is pivotal in driving global environmental initiatives. Carlos called for policymakers, businesses, and society at large to embrace innovative solutions and foster a collaborative spirit.
“The time for action is now,” Carlos urged. “International cooperation is no longer optional; it’s a necessity for the survival and well-being of future generations.”
