CMG Hosts Event to Boost Chinese Brands Ahead of 2024 China Brand Day

Beijing, China—China Media Group (CMG) held a significant media event on Tuesday to mark the upcoming 2024 China Brand Day. The event aimed to explore new trends in “China-chic” (Guochao) consumption, share compelling narratives about the power of Chinese brands, and contribute to the nation’s high-quality economic development.

Prominent figures such as Luo Wen, head of the State Administration for Market Regulation; Shen Haixiong, president of CMG; and Yang Guorui, deputy director of the National Radio and Television Administration, attended the ceremony and delivered insightful speeches.

In his address, Shen Haixiong emphasized the critical role of branding for companies in today’s competitive market. “Since its establishment over six years ago, CMG has remained committed to building and promoting Chinese brands,” Shen stated. “We will leverage our communication strengths to vigorously advance Chinese brands, propelling them onto the world stage.”

Shen also announced that CMG plans to launch integrated media activities focused on introducing Chinese brands to a global audience during the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. “Our goal is to enhance the international influence of Chinese brands, showcasing their innovation and quality to the world,” he added.

The initiative reflects China’s broader strategy to bolster its economic development by elevating the global presence of its domestic brands. The emphasis on “China-chic” represents a cultural resurgence, blending traditional Chinese elements with modern aesthetics to appeal to both domestic and international consumers.

Industry experts at the event discussed how embracing Guochao trends can drive consumer engagement and foster brand loyalty. By capitalizing on China’s rich cultural heritage and technological advancements, businesses aim to create unique value propositions that resonate globally.

The media event sets the stage for the 2024 China Brand Day, highlighting the government’s support for brand development as a key component of economic growth. Stakeholders expressed optimism that these efforts will not only boost individual companies but also enhance China’s influence in the global marketplace.
