Domestic Brands Shine at 4th China International Consumer Products Expo

The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo opened its doors in Haikou City, Hainan Province, drawing thousands of visitors eager to experience the latest in domestic innovation. Running from April 13 to 18, the expo showcases a dazzling array of products, with AI-powered massage chairs and chess-playing robots capturing the imagination of attendees.

Occupying three of the eight exhibition halls, the Domestic Brands Zone highlights the best of China’s homegrown fashion, time-honored brands, and intelligent manufacturing. Among the standout exhibitors is Pien Tze Huang, a renowned traditional Chinese medicine brand participating in the expo for the fourth consecutive year.

Pien Tze Huang is showcasing its range of health food and skincare products, which it claims help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and freckles. “Pien Tze Huang is a time-honored brand, which makes me feel assured,” said a visitor surnamed Wang while exploring the company’s offerings.

Known for blending modern technology with traditional Chinese herbal processing, Pien Tze Huang has expanded its portfolio to include skincare and health food products alongside its acclaimed liver disease treatments. The company’s revenue surpassed 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.4 billion) in 2023, reflecting its strong market presence.

Another highlight is Bloomage Biotech, one of China’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers specializing in hyaluronic acid-based products. Established in 2000, Bloomage is also marking its fourth appearance at the expo. This year, the company unveiled its latest facial treatment essence, promising eight hours of oil control and four weeks of long-lasting antioxidant benefits for individuals with oily skin.

“By adjusting the product formula, Bloomage provides consumers with a better skin care experience,” said Yan Huan, head of research and development for the new product, as quoted by China Securities Journal.

The expo underscores the rising demand for domestic products and the commitment of Chinese brands to innovation and quality. With cutting-edge technology and time-honored traditions, these companies are redefining consumer expectations and contributing to the dynamic growth of China’s economy.
