China has opened its doors to global enterprises at the fourth China International Consumer Products Expo, which commenced on Saturday in Haikou City, Hainan Province. The expo, scheduled from April 13 to 18, has attracted participation from over 4,000 brands representing 71 countries and regions.

With a record exhibition area spanning 128,000 square meters, the event marks China’s first major international trade fair of the year and stands as the largest consumer expo in the Asia-Pacific region by scale. It serves as a premier platform for showcasing and trading high-quality consumer products from around the world, aiming to invigorate efforts toward global economic recovery.

“In order to further optimize consumer supply and enrich consumption scenarios, this year’s expo has planned a series of activities to drive consumption transformation and upgrade, and boost confidence in economic development,” said Peng Qinghua, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

The expo not only highlights China’s commitment to opening up its market but also provides significant opportunities for international businesses to explore the vast potential of the Chinese consumer market. The event is expected to foster deeper economic ties and stimulate growth by facilitating exchanges between domestic and international enterprises.

Industry experts anticipate that the expo will accelerate the release of local consumption potential in Hainan Province and contribute to the region’s development as a free trade port. The convergence of global brands and innovative products is poised to enhance consumer experiences and promote sustainable economic development.
