Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng Engages Global CEOs at China Development Forum 2024

In a significant move to bolster international economic ties, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with leaders of multinational enterprises at the China Development Forum (CDF) 2024 in Beijing on Monday. The forum served as a platform for open dialogue on the global economic outlook and opportunities for expanded investment in China.

He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, engaged in discussions with prominent business figures including Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of the Blackstone Group; Albert Bourla, Chairman and CEO of Pfizer; and Roland Busch, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG. The conversations centered on China’s economic prospects and the mutual benefits of increased foreign investment.

“China is accelerating the development of new quality productive forces,” He Lifeng stated, emphasizing the country’s steady economic momentum. “We welcome global multinational companies to further expand their investment in China.”

The business leaders expressed optimism about China’s market potential. Stephen Schwarzman highlighted the opportunities in China’s evolving financial sector, while Albert Bourla noted the advancements in healthcare and the potential for collaboration. Roland Busch emphasized the importance of technological innovation and sustainability in China’s growth trajectory.

The China Development Forum 2024, held on March 24 and 25 under the theme “The Continuous Development of China,” brought together global executives and policymakers to discuss China’s role in the global economy. The event underscored China’s commitment to openness and international cooperation, signaling a positive outlook for future investments and partnerships.
