Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for a deeper integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial development to accelerate new driving forces for high-quality growth. During an inspection tour in Beijing on Wednesday, Li emphasized the importance of nurturing new advantages in the face of evolving global economic dynamics.

At an operation center of Beijing’s high-level autopilot demonstration zone, Premier Li observed the latest advancements in autonomous driving technologies. He urged the strengthening of support in standard-setting and resource allocation to promote the development of the automobile industry and the construction of smart cities. \”Upgrading autopilot technology can significantly boost our auto industry and contribute to smarter urban environments,\” Li stated.

Visiting the Yizhuang office of Chinese tech giant Baidu, Li highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving economic growth. He stressed the need to leverage China’s rich application scenarios, enhance institutional support, and foster a more relaxed environment for the AI industry’s development. \”We must fully unleash the advantages of our vast data and application landscapes,\” he noted.

During his tour of Naura Technology Group Co., Ltd., a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer, the premier encouraged the company to increase investment in scientific research and development. He called for accelerated innovation in advanced process equipment and emphasized collaborative innovation across the entire industrial chain. \”Strengthening our core technological capabilities is essential for national development,\” Li asserted.

At the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, Li urged researchers to achieve new breakthroughs through advanced resources and cooperative efforts. He underscored that AI is a critical engine for developing new productive forces and called for key advancements in computing power, data, and algorithms to empower various industries effectively.

In a symposium following his visits, Premier Li reiterated the intrinsic requirement of developing new quality productive forces to promote high-quality development. He called for breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields and the promotion of industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation. \”Accelerating the development of a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing at its core is imperative,\” he emphasized.
