Yak Industry Transforms Damxung County

In Damxung County, the yak processing industry is booming. By developing the entire yak industry chain, the county has attracted investment and new projects, enhancing brand effect and extending industrial links. The recent “SC” certification has given Damxung yak an official identification, boosting orders nationwide.

Norbu Lhadar, a pioneer in family pastures, shared his success: “I have earned over 1.4 million yuan ($195,000) so far. With stable yak markets and newfound techniques in livestock breeding, life has never been better.”

Reviving Tibetan Medicine in Nyingchi City

Zha Village in Nyingchi City is cultivating Tibetan medicinal materials and developing specialty medicinal incense. Supported by the government, the village’s annual sales have exceeded 1 million yuan. “We plan to encourage villagers to sell goods through livestreaming to enhance the popularity of our medicinal products,” said Lhaba Tsering, the village’s Party branch secretary.

Gastrodia Cultivation Boosts Income in Bome County

Kangmu Village in Bome County has shifted from traditional crops to cultivating Gastrodia, a valuable medicinal plant. “Last year, the average household income increased by more than 5,000 yuan,” said Dorje, the village’s Party branch secretary. The village aims to invite experts to teach planting techniques, enabling more residents to participate and increase their income.

Awang Sheep Industry Flourishes in Gongjue County

In Gongjue County, Awang sheep have become a cornerstone of rural revitalization. Known for quality leather and tender meat, the industry adopts a cooperative model linking companies, village collectives, and farmers. “We helped villagers increase their income by more than 1,516 yuan,” said Liu Cui, deputy director of the local Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Promotion Service Center. “We will continue to promote the scientific development of the Awang sheep industry, accelerating the growth of animal husbandry.”
