School Bus Attack in Pakistan Kills 5, Including Students

A suicide bombing targeting a school bus in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province killed at least five people and injured dozens on Wednesday, sparking nationwide condemnation. Among the victims were three students, according to the Pakistani military.

The attack occurred in Khuzdar district's Zero Point area when an explosive-laden vehicle detonated near the bus. Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Yasir Iqbal Dashti confirmed 40 injured, including school staff and children, as rescue teams rushed victims to hospitals.

Pakistan's military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), vowed to pursue the attackers, calling the assault on “innocent school-going children” an act of cowardice. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the bombing as “deeply inhumane,” pledging intensified counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan.

Authorities have sealed the area and launched a full investigation. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, which highlights ongoing security challenges in the resource-rich province bordering Afghanistan and Iran.
