Chengdu World Games Kick Off 100-Day Countdown with Major Preparations Underway

The countdown to the 12th edition of the World Games in Chengdu has officially begun, with organizers announcing robust preparations for the global sporting event set to take place from August 7th to 17th. A Tuesday media briefing led by Li Jing, vice chairperson of the Organizing Committee and vice minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, highlighted upgrades to 21 out of 27 competition venues and rigorous testing protocols ahead of the Games' launch.

Over 330 athletes from the Chinese mainland will participate in the event, which features 34 major sports not included in the Olympic program. With 255 total events planned, the Games are poised to showcase a diverse array of international talent while emphasizing Chengdu’s readiness to host large-scale global competitions.
