The Rise of a Tech Powerhouse
At Mech-Mind Robotics in Xiong’an New Area, a robotic arm captivates visitors by recognizing voice commands and handling delicate components with precision. This company, which equips robots with AI-driven "eyes" and "brains," relocated its headquarters from Beijing to this burgeoning northern Chinese hub last year. Zhang Dan, a senior executive, describes Xiong’an as the ideal ground to scale innovation: "We believe this is where we’ll advance from 10 to 10,000."
A Blueprint for Sustainable Growth
Established in 2017 as part of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional integration efforts, Xiong’an was designed to eliminate urban challenges while prioritizing smart infrastructure, green spaces, and cutting-edge industries. Its Zhongguancun Science Park – inspired by Beijing’s tech valley – now hosts over 140 companies, including startups like Xiong’an Xingyuan Technology. The firm’s CEO, Gong Wentong, credits the area’s efficiency: "We secured our business license on registration day and connected with partners through organized networking events."
"We’re being pushed forward by the opportunities here," says Wang Ling of Zhijue Intelligent, a LiDAR tech startup benefiting from housing subsidies and workspace allowances.
Building a Talent Ecosystem
Local policies actively recruit experts in AI, aerospace, and new materials, while innovation competitions reward promising ventures. Rapid infrastructure development, including schools and hospitals, has eased relocation concerns for professionals like Wang Ling, who moved her entire family to Xiong’an. "The city’s growth has surpassed our expectations," she notes.
Collaborative Vision for the Future
Liu Jingjing, general manager of Zhongguancun Science Park, emphasizes plans to strengthen AI and robotics clusters. As more firms join this collaborative ecosystem, Xiong’an solidifies its role as a testing ground for China’s next-generation technological advancements.
