China has strongly opposed the U.S. government’s recent decision to add dozens of Chinese entities to its export restrictions list, denouncing the move as “a typical act of hegemony” during a Foreign Ministry press conference on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun criticized the U.S. for leveraging national security concerns to justify expanding its entity list, calling it an abuse of export control tools. He emphasized that such unilateral sanctions violate international law, undermine global industrial supply chain stability, and infringe on the legal rights of businesses.
“China firmly opposes and strongly condemns such actions,” Guo stated, urging Washington to cease politicizing trade and technology issues. He reiterated Beijing’s commitment to safeguarding Chinese enterprises through necessary measures, though specifics were not disclosed.
The escalating tensions highlight growing friction in US-China economic relations, with potential repercussions for global markets and cross-border trade dynamics.
