UN Site Struck in Gaza Amid Renewed Conflict, Israel Denies Role

A foreign United Nations worker was killed and five others injured during a reported strike on a UN facility in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah on Wednesday, according to local health authorities. The victims were treated at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, though the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) denied targeting the compound, stating they "did not strike a UN site."

The incident follows the collapse of a week-long ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, with hostilities resuming Tuesday. Gaza health officials report over 400 fatalities since renewed attacks began, intensifying humanitarian concerns in the densely populated coastal enclave.

While international mediators push for de-escalation, conflicting narratives over accountability persist. The UN has not yet issued an official statement on Wednesday's strike. Analysts warn the resumed violence threatens regional stability and complicates aid delivery efforts amid Gaza's deepening crisis.
