CPPCC Member Showcases Cultural Gift to Champion Rural Growth

The Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded in Beijing on March 10, marking a week of dialogue among over 2,000 members dedicated to shaping national development strategies. Among the voices was Yang Yuni, a member of the Hani ethnic group, who brought a striking cultural artifact from her hometown — located 3,000 kilometers away — to underscore the potential of rural revitalization.

During a press interaction at the CPPCC Members Corridor, Yang displayed an intricately crafted item, symbolizing the rich heritage of her community. "This gift represents not just our traditions, but the untapped opportunities in rural areas," she stated. Her proposals emphasized integrating cultural preservation with economic innovation, advocating for sustainable tourism and digital platforms to boost local livelihoods.

Yang's participation highlights the CPPCC's role in amplifying grassroots perspectives, particularly from ethnic groups, within China's policymaking framework. Her vision aligns with broader national goals to bridge urban-rural divides and leverage regional diversity for inclusive growth.
