China to Boost Emerging Industries with New Quality Productive Forces

The Chinese government is set to enhance its economic landscape by developing new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions. This initiative aims to foster the growth of emerging and future industries, as outlined in a recent government work report submitted for deliberation.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang presented the work report on behalf of the State Council during the opening meeting of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing. Highlighting key sectors, Premier Li emphasized the focus on commercial aerospace, the low-altitude economy, biomanufacturing, quantum computing, embodied intelligence, and 6G technologies.

In addition to nurturing these nascent industries, China plans to accelerate the digital transformation of its traditional sectors. This move is expected to integrate advanced technologies seamlessly into established industries, driving efficiency and innovation.

The digital economy is poised to play a pivotal role in invigorating China's innovation landscape. Building on the "artificial intelligence plus" initiative from last year's report, the country aims to further enhance its digital capabilities. Premier Li noted that maximizing the allocation of computing power is crucial for establishing globally competitive digital industry clusters.

These strategic measures underscore China's commitment to remaining at the forefront of technological advancement and economic growth, positioning the nation as a key player in the global market.
