Hope Blooms: Cambodian Family Takes on Cattle Farming to Support Granddaughter’s Treatment

The Mao De family, residing in Svay Ampear Village, Svay Ampear Commune, Kandal, Cambodia, found new hope as they renovated their home with the assistance of the East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project. Their joy doubled with the birth of their granddaughter, a moment they cherished deeply.

However, happiness turned to worry when the little girl was diagnosed with congenital heart disease just a few months after her birth. Determined to provide the best care for their granddaughter, the Mao De family, with the continued support of the Pilot Project, decided to venture into cattle farming. This new endeavor aims to increase their household income, ensuring they can afford the necessary medical treatments.

The family now faces the challenges of cattle farming, balancing their agricultural responsibilities with the urgent need for their granddaughter's health. Their journey is a testament to resilience and the pursuit of a better future despite unforeseen hardships.
