Chinese Foreign Minister Stresses Mutual Respect in U.S. Relations

At the ongoing Munich Security Conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the importance of mutual respect in developing China-U.S. relations. Speaking during the \"China in the World\" event, Wang emphasized that mutual respect serves as the foundation for meaningful exchanges between the two nations.

Wang outlined China's approach to bilateral relations, which is anchored in the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. He warned that any conflict between China and the United States would have detrimental effects on the global community, urging both countries to avoid confrontation.

Emphasizing the need for constructive dialogue, Wang called for enhanced understanding and trust-building measures. He stressed that China and the United States share a responsibility to address global challenges collaboratively, viewing it as an international duty that both nations should uphold.

Wang expressed China’s readiness to establish stable, sound, and sustainable relations with the United States, advocating for a balanced and cooperative approach. He conveyed hope that the United States would reciprocate by meeting China halfway in their diplomatic engagements.

However, Wang also made it clear that should the United States persist in efforts to suppress and contain China, Beijing would firmly counteract any unilateral actions aimed at undermining China's national sovereignty, dignity, and legitimate development rights.
