‘Ne Zha 2’ Becomes the Chinese Mainland’s Highest-Grossing Film

'Ne Zha 2' has achieved a monumental milestone in Chinese cinema, becoming the Chinese mainland's highest-grossing film ever. According to data from movie platform Beacon Pro, as of 2:30 p.m. Beijing Time on February 12, the film has amassed 9.279 billion yuan (approximately $1.29 billion), making it the first film in Chinese cinema history to surpass the 9 billion yuan mark.

On the global stage, 'Ne Zha 2' currently ranks fifth among animated films and 24th in overall box office earnings. The film recently premiered in the United States and is set for an official release on February 14. Anticipation for the movie has been immense, with pre-sale screenings boasting over 90 percent occupancy rates and numerous popular screenings selling out in advance.

Beyond North America, 'Ne Zha 2' is scheduled for release on February 13 in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. Additional releases are planned for countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan, Japan, and South Korea, further cementing the film's global appeal and reach.
