Migratory Birds Grace Yellow River Amidst Melting Ice in Shandong

Large flocks of migratory birds have been observed gliding over drifting ice floes in the Yellow River, located in east China's Shandong Province. This captivating phenomenon is particularly evident in Dongying City, a coastal stopover point for these feathered travelers.

Since February 7, ice floes have been present on the river, stretching over 400 kilometers from Taian City to the river's mouth. The densest concentration of ice floes is found in Dongying, creating a picturesque backdrop for the migratory birds.

As temperatures continue to rise and the ice begins to melt, stunning scenes unfold with birds resting on the floating ice before taking flight once again. This natural spectacle highlights the dynamic interplay between wildlife and changing environmental conditions.
