Chinese Athletes Secure Six Golds at Harbin Asian Winter Games

Chinese athletes continued to shine on Tuesday at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, clinching six gold medals and showcasing the nation's prowess in winter sports.

In freestyle skiing, two Chinese pairs dominated the women's aerials synchro freestyle skiing final. Feng Junxi and Wang Xue secured the gold with 87.12 points, narrowly ahead of their compatriots Xu Mengtao and Chen Meiting, who took silver. Ardana Makhanova and Ayana Zholdas of Kazakhstan completed the podium with bronze.

Liu Mengting achieved a remarkable 1-2-3 sweep in the women's slopestyle freestyle skiing competition. She won the top honors with 94.00 points, followed by Yang Ruiyi in second place and Han Linshan rounding out the podium in third.

Chinese speed skaters also had a stellar day, winning all four gold medals on offer. Ning Zhongyan claimed the men's 1,000 meter final with a time of 1:08.81, outperforming South Korea's Cha Min-kyu and fellow Chinese skater Lian Ziwen, who took silver and bronze respectively.

In the women's 1,500 meter final, Han Mei topped the podium with a time of 1:15.85, narrowly defeating Chinese teammate Yin Qi by 0.23 seconds. South Korea's Lee Nah-yun secured the bronze medal.

The host nation also dominated the team pursuit events, capturing both the men's and women's titles. The men's team of Liu Hanbin, Wu Yu, and Hanahati Muhamaiti triumphed over South Korea and Japan, while the women's team of Yang Binyu, Ahenaer Adake, and Han continued their winning streak against the same East Asian rivals.

With these victories, China reinforces its status as a leading force in the Asian Winter Games, highlighting its growing investment and talent in winter sports.
