Chinese Premier Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of deepening all-round mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan during talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Beijing on Wednesday.

Xi highlighted the readiness of the Chinese mainland to align development strategies, expand exchanges in state governance, and advance comprehensive cooperation to build a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future. He praised the leap-forward development of bilateral relations, noting the attainment of a new height in their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Premier underscored the strong political mutual trust and extensive bilateral cooperation in various fields, which have solidified the social and public opinion foundation for their shared future community.

Focusing on economic collaboration, Xi called for high-quality Belt and Road initiatives and the deepening of mutually beneficial projects. He announced China’s commitment to expanding economic and trade cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, increasing imports of quality goods, and supporting Chinese enterprises in investing and doing business in Kyrgyzstan. Xi also expressed hope that Kyrgyzstan would effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors.

Enhancing connectivity was another key point, with Xi urging the comprehensive improvement of infrastructure, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, modernization of existing ports, and the expansion of passenger and freight flights to facilitate personnel exchanges and the flow of goods.

Additionally, Xi called for expanding cooperation in new quality productive forces such as cross-border e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence to create new growth points.

He also emphasized the importance of cultural exchange, urging both sides to effectively operate institutions like the Chinese Cultural Center, the Luban Workshop, and the Confucius Institute to strengthen local ties and cultivate a stronger China-Kyrgyzstan friendship.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov echoed Xi’s sentiments, noting that bilateral relations have reached a new level in recent years. He affirmed China as Kyrgyzstan's reliable friend and partner and expressed firm support for China on issues concerning Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong. Japarov pledged to advance cooperation in areas such as industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce, and education.

The two leaders concluded their discussions by signing a joint statement and witnessing the signing of a Belt and Road cooperation plan, along with several cooperation documents spanning diplomacy, economy, trade, agriculture, and other fields.
