Xi Jinping Advocates for Strengthened China-Kyrgyzstan Partnership

In a significant development, Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan to foster a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future. During talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Beijing, Xi outlined plans to align their development strategies and expand exchanges in state governance.

Highlighting the robust relationship between the two nations, Xi noted that China-Kyrgyzstan relations have seen substantial growth, achieving a new level of comprehensive strategic partnership in the current era. He praised the political mutual trust and bilateral cooperation across various fields, reinforcing the social and public opinion foundation for their collaborative efforts.

Xi called for a focus on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, aiming to enhance mutually beneficial projects. He announced China's intentions to expand economic and trade cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, increase the import of quality goods from Kyrgyzstan, and support more Chinese enterprises in investing and operating within the country. He also expressed hope that Kyrgyzstan would safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors.

Further, Xi urged the improvement of connectivity between the two nations by building the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway to high standards, modernizing existing ports, and increasing passenger and freight flights. These measures are expected to facilitate the exchange of personnel and the flow of goods, bolstering economic ties.

Emphasizing the importance of innovation, Xi advocated for expanding cooperation in emerging sectors such as cross-border e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence to create new growth opportunities. He also stressed the need to effectively manage institutions like the Chinese Cultural Center, Luban Workshop, and Confucius Institute to strengthen local exchanges and nurture pro-China sentiments in Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyz President Japarov echoed Xi's sentiments, acknowledging the elevated level of bilateral relations and reaffirming China's role as a reliable friend and partner. He expressed strong support for China on key issues and pledged to advance cooperation in industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce, and education.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint statement and several cooperation documents covering diplomacy, economy, trade, agriculture, and other sectors, marking a milestone in China-Kyrgyzstan relations.
