Beijing, China — China has announced the addition of two U.S. companies, PVH Corp. and Illumina, Inc., to its unreliable entity list, the Ministry of Commerce stated on Tuesday.
The two firms have been cited for violating normal market trading principles, terminating regular trade with Chinese companies, and adopting discriminatory measures against them. According to the Ministry's statement, these actions have severely harmed the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
The decision to include these entities on the unreliable entity list was made to maintain national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and is in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, the statement noted.
The unreliable entity list mechanism will enforce corresponding measures against PVH Corp. and Illumina, Inc. based on the applicable laws and regulations, as per the Ministry's announcement.
