Xi Jinping Lauds China’s Progress Amid Challenges in Year of the Dragon

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday praised the nation's solid progress in advancing Chinese modernization over the past year, despite facing complex and challenging situations. Speaking at a high-level reception to ring in the Chinese New Year, Xi highlighted the country's resilience and determination in the Year of the Dragon.

\\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\\" Xi said. As general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, he emphasized the collective efforts that have propelled the nation forward.

Addressing over 2,000 attendees at the reception held by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Xi extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and overseas Chinese communities.

Xi acknowledged the challenges faced in the past twelve months but noted that China responded with composure and implemented a range of comprehensive measures. \\"We overcame difficulties and forged ahead with determination,\\" he said at the event, which also served to usher in the Year of the Snake, beginning on January 29.

Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a package of incremental measures to promote economic recovery. Xi highlighted remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, stating that new quality productive forces are steadily advancing.

\\"China's employment and consumer prices remained stable,\\" Xi noted, underscoring the government's efforts to maintain economic stability amid global uncertainties. He attributed these achievements to the nation's ability to adapt and the proactive steps taken to address emerging challenges.
