President Xi Praises China’s Progress Amid Challenges as Year of the Dragon Approaches

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday commended the nation's solid progress over the past year, highlighting advancements made despite \"complex and challenging\" circumstances. Speaking at a high-level reception to welcome the upcoming Year of the Snake, Xi acknowledged the country's resilience and determination in advancing Chinese modernization.

\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\" Xi stated. The president, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the nation's ability to overcome difficulties and forge ahead with composure.

The reception, held by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, was attended by over 2,000 people. Xi extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and overseas Chinese.

\"Faced with complex and challenging situations, we responded with composure and implemented a range of comprehensive measures,\" Xi remarked. \"We overcame difficulties and forged ahead with determination.\"

Xi highlighted the effective implementation of existing policies and the proactive introduction of additional measures, which have helped promote economic recovery. He noted remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces steadily advancing.

\"China's employment and consumer prices remained stable,\" Xi said, underscoring the country's commitment to maintaining economic stability and improving people's livelihoods.
