Chinese President Xi Jinping praised China's solid progress over the past year despite facing \"complex and challenging\" situations, during a high-level reception on Monday celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year.
\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\" Xi said at the event held by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council to welcome the Year of the Snake, which begins on January 29.
Addressing an audience of over 2,000 people, Xi highlighted China's composed response to difficulties, noting that the country implemented comprehensive measures, overcame obstacles, and forged ahead with determination.
He extended Spring Festival greetings to Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.
\"Over the past year, we effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a package of incremental measures, which helped promote the recovery of the economy,\" Xi stated.
Xi emphasized remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces advancing steadily. He also noted that China's employment rates and consumer prices remained stable.
The reception reflected on the nation's achievements and set a hopeful tone for the coming year, reaffirming China's commitment to advancing modernization and sustainable development.
